RF Technician
OBJECTIVES: In our construction division, an RF technician will be responsible in installing, maintaining and upgrading RF systems such as wireless internet access point, two-way radios, power supplies, amplifiers, satellite systems, etc. He will provide technical support in testing and troubleshooting new and existing systems.
REPORTS TO: Project Managers
CLASSIFICATION: Full time (40-50 hours a week)

Key tasks and function
Ensure that necessary diagnostic and troubleshooting tools are available and in working order
Perform, record, collect and organize all data and documentation for each test performed, diagnose test equipment-related faults, and provide failure reports
Program various RF equipment to operate in a designated network
Track maintenance actions and complete records to keep equipment running at maximum efficiency
Maintain and repair multiple types of tower light controllers
Supervise installation work to ensure compliance with company standards
Perform, record, collect and organize all data and documentation for each test performed, diagnose test equipment-related faults, and provide failure reports
Locate existing cables & underground utilities using a utility locator
Read and interpret existing drawings and designs
Work and communicate with project managers, supervisors, and drafters to accurately convey information and determine solutions
Qualifications and skills
Minimum 4 years RF technician experience
Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground infrastructure, fiber, HFC, and coaxial systems
Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with working at heights
Good analytical skills and good judgment
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication skills – written, verbal, and drawing
Ability to work well either alone or on a team
Professional and friendly demeanor; represents company well when meeting clients
Fluency in English. Knowledge of French would be considered an asset
Ontario Class ‘G’ License or equivalent with clean driving record
