Directional Bore Operator
Goals:

In our construction division, a directional bore operator will be working in a two-man operation with a support crew of up to 5 people. He will act as one of the leaders in his crew. He will coordinate the whole process which consist of analysing the work order, preparing the machine, working the drill and managing the locating and guidance of the machine. This person will oversee new and advance bore drills such as Vermeer and Ditch Witch.

Key Task & Functions :

  • Read and interpret blueprints or construction drawings and utility locates
  • Load and unload bore equipment in a safety manner
  • Prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
  • Maintain clear and accurate operations documents/procedures for reference purposes

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Directional boring experience
  • Preferably AZ driver’s licence
  • Previous experience working around existing buried utilities
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Fiber Splicer
Goals:

In our construction division, a fiber splicer responsibility will be to splice optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings. He will need to create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams. He will need to maintain adequate splicing notes, respect timelines and provide accurate inspecting and troubleshooting

Key Task & Functions :

  • Splice fiber optic cables, both loose tubes and ribbon optic cables.
  • Create and maintain splicing sheets
  • Understand and interpret drawings, splicing diagrams and blueprints
  • Enter and maintain outside plant records
  • Perform maintenance and recognize and repair route issues

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Fiber splicing experience an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground infrastructure, fiber, HFC, and coaxial systems
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production, technical plans, blueprints, drawings, etc
  • Experience with working at heights

RF Technician
Goals:

In our technical division, an RF technician will be responsible in installing, maintaining and upgrading hybrid fibre/coax systems systems such as wireless internet access point, two-way radios (A enlever), power supplies, trunk amplifiers, nodes, satellite systems (A enlever), etc. He will provide technical support in testing and troubleshooting new and existing systems.

Key Task & Functions :

  • Perform, record, collect and organize all data and documentation
  • Installing and upgrading hybrid fibre/coax equipment
  • Live cutovers
  • Installing and upgrading power supplies and batteries
  • Blowing fiber to newly installed networks
  • Locate existing cables & underground utilities

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Minimum 4 years (A enlever) RF technician experience an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground infrastructure, fiber, HFC, and coaxial systems
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience with working at heights
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

OSP Designer
Goals:

In our engineering division, an outside plant designer will be working collaboratively in a large team. He will plan, develop and document all workable and buildable OSP cabling systems. He will be primarily responsible for conducting the detailed design, permitting and project management processes.

Key Task & Functions :

• Measure equipment heights on utility poles;
• Perform surveys with clients on site;
• Locate existing cables & underground utilities using a utility locator;
• Design fibre optic and coaxial networks while adhering to provincial, municipal,
utility, and client standards.

Qualifications & Skills :

• OSP telecommunications field experience an asset ;
• Knowledge of technical standards for design of OSP networks;
• Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground infrastructure, fiber, HFC,
and coaxial system design;
• Knowledge and experience using Windows computers and MS Office software
(Outlook, Word, Excel);
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools considered an asset.

Aerial Lineman
Goals:

In our construction division, an aerial lineman will be working in a three to five-man operation. He will act as one of the leaders in his crew. He will coordinate the whole process which consist of analysing the work order, preparing his equipment, operating the bucket truck and managing his support crew. This person will oversee new and advance bucket truck and equipment.

Key Task & Functions :

• Installation of aerial or underground fiber optic or coaxial cable using existing knowledge of all required pole hardware;

• Pull cable by hand from large reels mounted on trucks; pull lines through ducts by hand or with winches;

• Working at heights;

• Access specific areas to lash lines;

• Maintain clear and accurate operations documents/procedures for reference
purposes.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Aerial Lineman experience;
• Preferably AZ driver’s licence;
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with others;
• Excellent communication and time management skills;
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
